Watch online : Guided tour of high field laser laboratory
The high field laser we built at National Central University can reach an intensity of 1020 W/cm2 after focusing. Its oscillating electric field reaches 50 times of the Coulomb field in the hydrogen atom. Its optical pressure is as large as 1010 bar. Such a strong electromagnetic field opens a new research field of relativistic laser-plasma interaction. In this session we provide a guided tour of the laboratory with a pre-recorded video, explaining the principle, construction, and function of each laser section, as well as the research subject of each experimental station.
