In this lecture, I will talk about what experimental means physical scientists can adopt for the study of biology, pandemics, and biomedical field from our lab research efforts. These means include using micro/nanofluidics, nanooptics, nanomaterials, and micro-/nanoscale fabrication. Few notable examples of the study will be given, comprising bacteria dynamics and morphology in confined environments, graphene-based portable electrochemical sensors for COVID-19 screening, nano-electrode enabled nano-optical (SERS) measurements for Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers amyloid beta (Aβ) peptides, and novel single-jet electrospinning for direct 3D scaffold writing for tissue engineering applications.
