2021 Sinica Open House Activity

“What kinds of weapons were used in battles during the Shang dynasty?”
“What do the shape of a person’s head on and the curved lines running across Daji’s bronze battle-axe mean?”
“What are weapons in the Shang dynasty made out of?”
There are seemingly infinite questions about Shang dynasty weapons, but to get some answers, let’s just open the king’s arsenal!
The tour will guide participants to observe and understand the functions, ornamentation, and materials of each weapon, as well as to doodle in the coloring sheets of featured weapons. Complete the excursion, and you will turn into a Shang weapon master!

Remarks:

1. The activity will be given via Google Meet. Web link will be sent to registered participants.
2. We kindly ask our participants to prepare crayons, colored pencils, or other preferred drawing materials, and print the "Coloring Sheets of Shang Dynasty Weapons" in advance.
3. Open House stamp link is provided during the tour. Furthermore, the Museum will draw 15 winners in total from those who submit their doodling works. Each winner will be presented with the "Daji Speaks" L-Type Plastic Folder (two designs in a set), the exhibition postcard, and the paper doll set.
4. Tour Language: Mandarin Chinese.
