During the 1920s, Taiwanese formed organizations such as the The Shinmin Association and the Taiwan Cultural Association to promote political and social movements with the goal of enlightening Taiwanese wisdom, cultural enlightenment, and local autonomy. At the same time, in order to promote the Taiwanese intellectual knowledge and spread ideas, Taiwan Shinminpo Series was originally founded by Taiwanese people during the Japanese occupation.
