Watch online : Photoacoustic spectroscopy for molecular identification
There are various pollutants in the atmosphere, such as ozone, nitrogen dioxide, ammonia and so on.… These molecules often exist with extremely low concentration and may do harm to our health. How to identify and quantify these trace molecules would be a significant work in environmental monitoring. Here, we will introduce one of gas sensing methods using photoacoustic spectroscopy. In this activity, we will first give a brief introduction on photoacoustic spectroscopy. Afterwards, we will show how to obtain the absorption spectra of ammonia in a specific near-infrared region by employing photoacoustic technique.
