2020 Sinica Open House Activity

The sudden arrival of the pandemic has transformed our everyday lives. The museum experience is one heavily affected aspect that is rarely considered. The Center for Digital Cultures and the Museum of the Institute of History and Philology have collaborated to hold this live online broadcast, inviting research fellow Li-chuan Tai, museum director Ming-chorng Hwang, and Open Museum website director Cheng-hsin Hsu. From these three perspectives of researcher, traditional museum, and virtual museum, they discuss how museums respond to dramatic changes in modern society, as well as how digital technology can allow classic artifacts and research to continue reaching people in society.
