About Open House
Doing research is a great adventure of the human mind.
Academia Sinica, an institution focusing on basic research, also devotes itself to in-depth scholarship in the humanities and social sciences, mathematics, and life sciences. In addition, we shoulder the mission of promoting popular science so as to inform the public about what Academia Sinica is doing. Therefore, we have held an Open House every year for the past 22 years, an event that has ignited passion for scholarship in numerous students. Our Open House has evolved into one of Taiwan’s most popular science events, attracting huge numbers of visitors and breaking records on several recent occasions.
Staff from 32 of Academia Sinica’s research centers, institutions, and museums have racked their brains to arrange over 300 fascinating demonstrations, lectures and hands-on activities. Our world-class facilities and laboratories will be open to the public, so that visitors both young and old can get a sense of what it means to do research, and benefit from access to the sciences.
The 2020 Academia Sinica Open House now invites you to set forth on the grand adventure of the humanities and sciences.
