Islam, which originated in the 7th century, gradually spread to Southeast Asia through trade networks beginning in the 13th century. This diffusion process led to the interaction and integration of Islamic principles with local Adat, resulting in the culturally distinct "Malay Muslim World." In this context, Islam functions not merely as a religious belief system but as an all-encompassing "way of life." This presentation will focus on Malaysian society, providing an overview of the religious beliefs of the Malay Muslim community and their everyday cultural practices.
