We utilize tera-hertz light pulses to excite atomic vibration in materials. Subsequently, the laser pulses from high-order harmonic generation or non-collinear optical parametric amplifiers are used to trigger photoelectrons from the surface of the materials. The energy and momentum distributions of these photoelectrons are analyzed by the time-of-flight momentum microscopy.
