
The key factor driving sustainable development is the integration of science into life and policy. The Center for Sustainability Science will introduce to you through two main axis. Those who are interested in learning about sustainable scientific research and international cooperation are welcome to find out.
First, with regard to scientific research, we will select six recent scientific topics to illustrate how the UN's Sustainable Development Goals are closely related to our daily lives, and how scientific research can respond to these goals. The six researches are "Efficient Transformation and Utilization of Solar Energy", "Research and development of bird flu vaccines against highly pathogenic avian influenza virus", "Facing " Risk Society" in Taiwan: Issues and Strategies", "Taiwan Drought Study: Change, Water Resource Impacts, and Risk Perception and Communication", "Reconstructing East Asian Historical Climate Series using China’s Chronological Records in Past Two Millennia (REACHES)", "Disaster Resilience through Big open Data and Smart Things (DRBoaST)".
Secondly, since sustainable development is the common focus of the world, it is also a very important task to join important international organizations and integrate cross-border cooperation. We will introduce two international cooperation work we are on which might be allowing you to understand the role and operation of international organizations in promoting sustainable development.
