Saturation absorption spectrum of Rubidium atoms

An absorption spectra by sending a probe laser through an atomic vapor cell has a linewidth broadened by the Doppler effect. The atoms with different velocities absorb different laser frequencies, causing a broadening. By using a Doppler-free scheme and a high-intensity probe laser in the saturation regime, we can retrieve the atomic spectra with natural linewidth.
