Taiwan Min and Hakka are two genetically related languages. These two posters will introduce results on Min and Hakka based on studies carried out at the Institute of Linguistics, Academia Sinica; phonological and semantic developments of cognates will be presented by comparing the spoken vocabulary of Min and Hakka. It is expected to offer participants concepts and methods to look for cognates via simple examples.
